EMERGENCY FIRST AID

This is a one day course, which, prior to 2009, was the qualification taken by those designated as an Appointed Person for First Aid in an organization.
It is suitable for all who wish to learn Basic First Aid and those who need a formal qualification, but the risk assessment shows that the full First Aid at Work certificate is not necessary.
The course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Duration
The course is normally run over one day (6 hours) but it can also be run over 2 half days or 3 sessions of 2 hours to suit candidates.

Assessment
There is no external assessment. Candidates will need to demonstrate competency to the course tutor during the course

Certification
The certificate is valid for 3 years
(After October 2009 it will carry HSE Approval)

Numbers
The maximum number of candidates allowed is 12
It is difficult to run an effective course with less than 5 participants

Costs
With the course held at your venue, costs are as low as £30 per person for more than 8 candidates.
Open courses are run regularly costing £60.00 per person.

FIRST AID AT WORK

This three day course enables successful candidates to be designated as a First Aider at their workplace. It also gives a thorough grounding in all the major areas of First Aid. The course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Duration
The course is normally run over three days (18 hours) but it can also be run in smaller sections to suit your requirements.

Assessment
Candidates will be required to undertake both a  practical assessment at the end of the course. This is designed to be low stress and ample preparation is given

Certification
The certificate is valid for 3 years

Numbers
The maximum number of candidates allowed is 12
It is difficult to run an effective course with less than 4 participants

Costs
When courses are held at your own venue, costs can be as low as £150 per person for more than 8 candidates. For courses held at other venues or for lower numbers the most economical price can be given on application.

FIRST AID AT WORK RECERTIFICATION COURSE

This two day course enables those holding a current Full First Aid at Work certificate to re-qualify for a further 3 years. It can also be taken by those whose certificate has expired within 28 days of the end of the course if we are advised at an early stage. The course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Copies of valid certificates MUST be presented at the start of the course

The course is normally run over two days (12 hours) but it can also be run in smaller sections to suit your requirements.

PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

This two day course is designed to give those working within childcare practical and relevant First Aid skills. It covers procedures for Adults, Children and Babies. It is suitable for all who wish to learn Basic First Aid and those who need a formal qualification. The course meets the requirements of SureStart, OFSTED and the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework and guidance as laid down by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

Duration
The course is normally run over two days (12 hours) but it can also be run over 4 three hour sessions.

Assessment
There is no external assessment. Candidates will need to demonstrate competency to the course tutor during the course.

Certification
The certificate is valid for 3 years.

Numbers
The maximum number of candidates allowed is 16. It is difficult to run an effective course with less than 4 participants.
